ProFood ProPack & AgBiz 2026 concluded successfully after three days (21 to 23 August 2026) of industry engagement, innovation and collaboration. The event was organised by the Sri Lanka Food Processors Association (SLFPA) together with Lanka Exhibition and Conference Services (LECS), bringing Sri Lanka’s food, packaging and agriculture industries onto one platform.
The exhibition featured around 450 stalls and welcomed close to 30,000 visitors, including businesses, industry professionals, entrepreneurs and other key stakeholders. It provided valuable opportunities to explore emerging technologies and new products across the wider food industry ecosystem. The event also created a space for knowledge-sharing, business collaborations and conversations around the future of Sri Lanka’s food processing sector.
This year marked the 23rd edition, which introduced several initiatives aimed at strengthening innovation and industry development. The Innovation Pavilion brought together 14 government and private universities to showcase research, technologies and innovative solutions. It created an important bridge between academia and industry while encouraging the practical application of research to address industry challenges.
Another key highlight was the introduction of SLFPA Career Connect, which was designed to connect employers with graduates, interns and emerging professionals. It reflected the industry’s growing focus on developing future talent and creating stronger pathways between education and employment.
Small and medium-sized enterprises were also given greater opportunities for visibility and engagement through dedicated initiatives at the exhibition. The Knowledge Circle Industry Seminar and Industry Help Desk further supported knowledge-sharing and provided guidance on matters relevant to businesses across the sector.
For more than two decades, ProFood ProPack & AgBiz has continued to evolve beyond a conventional trade exhibition. Today, it serves as an important platform where businesses connect, ideas are exchanged and new partnerships are formed. It brings together stakeholders across Sri Lanka’s food processing, packaging and agriculture value chain.
The successful conclusion of the 2026 edition reflects the continued importance of collaboration in advancing Sri Lanka’s food industry. As the sector responds to changing consumer expectations, technological developments and new market opportunities, ProFood ProPack & AgBiz will continue to play an essential role in the industry’s progress.
